Description

Wedding Invitation is a modern digital invitation application built with React and Vite. It delivers an elegant, responsive, and interactive online experience for wedding events, replacing printed cards with a shareable web link.

The application emphasizes fast performance, smooth navigation, and customizable layouts that adapt to different wedding themes and presentation styles across desktop and mobile.

Background

Printed invitations are costly, slow to distribute, and easy to misplace. A digital invitation can be shared instantly, viewed on any device, and updated as details change. This project was built to provide a polished, reusable template for that purpose.

Goal

  • Create an elegant, interactive digital alternative to printed invitations.
  • Ensure a fast, smooth experience on both desktop and mobile.
  • Keep the layout easily customizable for different couples and themes.

Features

  • Responsive design tuned for desktop and mobile.
  • Interactive page navigation with smooth scrolling.
  • Elegant, theme-able UI/UX layout.
  • Fast load performance powered by Vite.
  • Component-based React architecture for easy customization.
  • Clear presentation of event information.

Technologies

  • React.js — component-based UI architecture.
  • Vite — fast dev server and optimized production builds.
  • TypeScript — type safety across components and props.
  • Tailwind CSS — utility-first styling for responsive, consistent layouts.

How to Run

git clone https://github.com/FannyDevz/Wedding-Invitation
cd Wedding-Invitation
npm install

# Start the Vite dev server
npm run dev
# Open http://localhost:5173

# Production build
npm run build
npm run preview

Technical Decisions

  • Vite over Create React App for near-instant HMR and lean, optimized bundles.
  • TypeScript to catch prop and data-shape errors early and keep the template maintainable.
  • Tailwind CSS for rapid, consistent styling and straightforward theme adjustments.

What I Learned

  • Structuring a reusable, customizable frontend template.
  • Building smooth, interactive scrolling and navigation experiences.
  • Optimizing load performance for guests on varied mobile devices.
